"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Winston Churchill
To whom it may concern, well I don't even know what to say...
Hmmm. Oh! So, last Friday, went to the church building to teach a lesson and as we walked up the stairs with our investigator, we see that our joint teach is waiting there with someone else. I assumed it was a friend of his ofzo (or something), but when I asked it was not the case. He had met the missionaries before and they had given him a Book of Mormon with the address to the church inside and he wanted to learn more about what missionaries do and what we believe. Super cool. So, this last Monday, we met with him and answered questions that he had and set up a new appointment where we'll teach him about the Restoration fully, so super fun.
Also, yesterday at church, a man walked in and sat down right as Sacrament meeting was about to begin and so I went and sat next to him and he ended up staying all three hours! He apparently used to be an investigator 7 or 8 years ago and then decided one day that he needed to learn more about the Bible and Book of Mormon and so he came and we have a new appointment with him this week. People are just flocking to the church apparently:)
This last Tuesday was Pannenkoekendag, so we had pannenkoeken! A member invited us over so we celebrated with, you guess it, pannenkoeken and allerlei soort van toppings:) (pancakes with all kinds of toppings). So great. Also, this week is krokusweek and so krokuses, krokus-i? (the plural of krokus) are sprouting up everywhere, as well as daffodils and the other bulby-flowers:) Yah! Spring!
We had MLC again this Friday and so, we made the long exodus up to the Netherlands Thursday night and came back that next day; woo-ee. But, Carnaval, is upon the souther Netherlands, Belgium and German right now, so as we were making our way back, we saw the early celebrations of Carnaval...it's basically Halloween for adults minus the scary factor, well, at least the traditional scaring factor:) But, it makes for an exciting week. Apparently, Aalst, a city right outside of Gent, has the biggest celebrations, so our investigator out there said we should probably make our appointment for the week after...crazy stuff.
Also, Happy Valentines Day this week! I sure do love Valentines Day and so we're planning on heart-attacking all the people this week:) We taught Young Women's yesterday and had them cutting out hearts during the lesson, so now we have a bazillion hearts to pass out. Well done jongenvrouwen:)
Here's something that caught my eye for this week. It literally applies to doing missionary work, but just also every little decision and thing we do each day:)
