Fijne Valentijns!

Well, hello hello! And Happy Valentines Day across the board!  Well, this was the week on haraanvallen, or heart attacks:)  We, Zuster Lemich and I taught Young Women's last week, and while we were teaching the lesson, their task was to cut out as many hearts as they could, so by the time we had to start making "heart attacking wreaths" for people, we had more than enough hearts to work with. Thank you jongevrouwen!  Anyway, so our week was filled with going to less-actives and "lonlier" people and surprising them. The Belgians say that they don't really celebrate Valentines Day, per se, but they totally do. #thankyousocialmedia.

So that was fun throughout the week to sneak to people's houses (Not that we don't do that already)...) and then later on in the week get a text that they had gotten it and loved it:)
Beautiful February weather
We also had a great day on Tuesday; we had district meeting in the church and then right after we had a great lesson with Najib, our awesome Syrian investigator, and then after him, our other investigator and our joint-teach also showed up for their lesson!  We stayed at the church until about 17.00; the people literally just come to us!  One day, I have a dream than we set up back-to-back appointments at the church and so Sister Lemich and I can just sit there and have a lesson and when that one's over, the next one begins, and so on and so forth. Maybe that's what missionary work will be like in the Millenium?  in iedere geval, (anyway) my goal is to try and do it. So cool:)

Also, it was Carnaval this week and if you don't know what Carnaval is, then you're probably Mormon or American. All the European Mormons know about it, I suppose. Anyway, it's a crazy week long party to celebrate spring and to get out all their crazies before they make their Lent commitments until Easter.  All I know is that people love to party and to drink and cross dress. Apparently, Aalst, a smaller city outside of Gent is the Carnaval capital of Belgium. Who'da thought?:) Great job, Aalst.

The Young Women cooked dinner for us on Friday which was really fun and we also had a great Sunday with awesome less-actives showing up randomly for church which makes for a miraculous and heart warming time:)

"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with a surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." (Ether 12:4)

I  found this article on Mormon Channel about living a life that honors God - I think it's incredibly awesome that we have the ability to bring even more honor and glory to God through who we become; was that not Christ's task as well?

"But behold, my Beloved Son, which was my Beloved and Chosen from the beginning, said unto me - Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever." (Moses 4:2)

For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6:20)

Liefs!
