Dearest darlingest Mutti, Papi, and others interested in the best mission ever...this week was a joy - as is every single one:) More biking up these grand Limburger hills, lugging Book of Mormons-Books of Mormon (if you're THAT person) home from Zone Conference in Antwerpen, going on exchanges to Breda and riding a bike small enough for a munchkin (If I have knee problems in the future, I know why)
Well, anyway, here is my big mind blow for the week: we had Zone Conference on Tuesday and they were talking more and more about iPads-we are officially getting them. Super soon. But that's all they're telling us, sometime before fall.
Anyway, they are already starting to train us for them; helping us to use the iPads as resource and not having them become distractions.
It's just so cool because probably the biggest reason for implementing iPads into missions is not for the work itself; though it does make it easier, but rather to help missionaries learn how to effectively and responsibly use the internet, learning now while we're restricted, to be cautious about how much time we're on the internet and to what end.
I just think it's fascinating to see the progression of the Church, with the implementation of the new curriculum program, focusing on doctrine and personal testimonies in order to prepare youth to go to the temple earlier due to the mission age change, so that more youth can be out right after high school. And how incorporating the internet more and more into the picture and helping youth learn to use it as a tool, having a goal when turning on your device, and sending home missionaries that have mastered the internet and all of its distractions.
That also contributes to the future generation of saints as the youth of today become parents, with strong defenses against things temporary so that they will be able to raise their children in a way to make the internet and devices backseat to the things that are really important. It's just so interesting to see the progress in the church and how we are truly working to build ourselves up and build more defenses around us as the days and the world get crazier and crazier.
The Lord is mindful of His children - knowing what we will need in the future to help us flourish and come out on top:)
I am just amazed at the light, you just can't describe it any other way, that comes into people's lives when they truly align their will to the will of the Father's-it's not easy, but we already know that God is who is going to win the ultimate fight against good and evil; we already know the score, so why wouldn't we be completely invested?
Christ made an investment in us when He completed His Atonement-His grace is sufficient, het is gonoeg (it is enough).
I love you all! Always remember, that God has something better in mind and that may come with a little more effort, but when we see with our eternal eyes, we realize the necessity of our trials and the worth of them.
Have a happy sunshine-y day:)
liefs, Zuster Dobler
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:1-2
